Intermediate Modern Calligraphy

Take your cal­lig­ra­phy prac­tice to the next lev­el! In this 6‑wk Inter­me­di­ate course, you’ll expand your cal­lig­ra­phy skills, improve your over­all tech­nique and learn all about the art of off­hand flour­ish­ing with a dip pen.

In the world of pen­man­ship, off­hand flour­ish­ing is the ulti­mate show­case of your cal­lig­ra­phy skills. It is a free hand draw­ing process, which is quite med­i­ta­tive and mag­i­cal. Using a tra­di­tion­al point­ed pen you will learn how to cre­ate flour­ish­es using beau­ti­ful thick and thin strokes. We will focus on improv­ing your over­all tech­nique to enhance your let­ter­forms and devel­op your sig­na­ture style. There will be plen­ty of oppor­tu­ni­ties to prac­tice and for troubleshooting.

Through­out the 6‑wk course we will be work­ing on a wide range of fin­ished projects such as place cards, enve­lope address­ing, wax seals, water­colour back­grounds for han­dlet­tered quotes and much more. This is an inter­me­di­ate lev­el work­shop suit­able for any­one who is famil­iar with point­ed pen Cal­lig­ra­phy. The book­ing fee is inclu­sive of all mate­ri­als, so you do not need to bring any­thing. Light refresh­ments will be provided.

All par­tic­i­pants will receive a spe­cial­ly curat­ed Inter­me­di­ate Cal­lig­ra­phy kit which includes
